About

Monique-Danielle is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Birmingham, UK. Her influences are largely Jazz and Soul based but her music also incorporates aspects of hip-hop, R&B and Ambient Sound.

Monique’s love for music developed at a young age mostly influenced by her parents who exposed her to a variation of genres from traditional African music to Country and western. Having showcased her vocals at concerts and talent shows from the age of 5 Monique’s passion for her craft only expanded, naturally pushing her into the art of songwriting. After Studying at Stuart Bathurst Performing Arts College, Monique went on to study Jazz vocals in Grenoble with French vocalist Kristin Marion, where she was afforded the chance to perform improvised Jazz at various venues in and around the French Alps. She then went on to study Popular Music Performance at University Level in Southampton, UK.

Monique recently released her debut E.P. “Thoughts On You”, a 5-track collection of R&B, Jazz and Soul inspired songs written and performed by herself and composed by London-based producers SJ Reid and Rene Soul.  She is currently receiving international radio-play and is performing at shows in and around the U.K. and Europe.

Going ahead M-D plans to expand her brand globally as both a singer and a songwriter. She aspires to perform at venues and festivals and gain a following around the world. She is also planning to release her next E.P. in 2017.
